Methodology
The source hierarchy and editorial standards behind this investigation.
Source hierarchy
This investigation relies on a defined hierarchy of sources, in descending authority:
- SEDAR+ filings.
- Audited financial statements.
- Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) actions.
- TSX records.
- Company regulatory releases.
- Court material where relevant.
- Institutional shareholder communications.
- Reuters / Bloomberg / Canadian Press and financial press.
Activist communications
Activist communications — from Plantro, Matthew Proud, Ronnie Wahi, OneMove and others — represent interested-party statements, not independent findings. They are labelled as shareholder claims and shown alongside company responses where available. This site does not adopt them as its own findings.
Critical distinctions
Every article distinguishes between: established company disclosure, securities-regulator action, audited financial information, SEDAR+ filing, shareholder allegation, company response, media report, opinion/analysis, and forward-looking statements. This site does not convert an activist shareholder's allegation into a fact.
High-risk claim filter
Before publication, terms such as fraud, fraudulent, cooked books, accounting fraud, criminal, dishonest, deceptive, insolvent, bankrupt, corrupt, misappropriation, false accounting and securities fraud trigger a review: who made the claim, whether it is a regulator, whether there is a court finding, whether it is only a shareholder allegation, whether the source is current, whether there was a response, and whether the matter is resolved. If not fully supported, the claim is rewritten.
Current-information requirement
This site never leaves outdated negative information without the resolution. The December 2025 FFCTO is always paired with its February 2026 revocation; the credit-agreement default is paired with the waivers and restored compliance; FY2025 losses are paired with FY2026 improvement; and leadership references are updated to the latest confirmed appointments.
